Four Named CSAC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend track and field athletes Chris Drozynski (Stonebor, PA/Lakeview), Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca), Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy), and Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) have been named Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Athletes of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

For the men, Drozynski earned Track Athlete of the Week by finishing third in the men's 1500m run with a time of 4:06.76. He also competed in the men's 800m, finishing 18th with a time of 2:06.73.

Smith was recognized as the Field Athlete of the Week after placing second in the men's high jump competition. Smith finished the event with a leap of 1.96m. He also participated in the long jump, finishing in seventh place (5.99m). Smith is ranked 18th in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field rankings to start the outdoor season.

On the women's side, Sargent was selected as the Track and Field Athlete of the Week after winning the 3000m steeplechase event at the Cal U Early Bird Invite. Sargent finished the race with a time of 12:10.76.

Yenchik was chosen as the Field Athlete of the Week by winning the women's pole vault event. Yenchik finished with a height of 3.60m. She is ranked 14th in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field rankings in the pole vault. Yenchik also participated in the long jump where she finished in third place (4.89m).
