Lions Compete in John Homon Invitational; Sargent Breaks School Record

ALLIANCE, Oh. – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field team traveled to Alliance, Ohio to compete in the John Homon Invitational at Mount Union on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* Senior Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) took home second place in the 3000m steeplechase, breaking a school record with a 11:35.50
* Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) finished second in the women's 10,000m run with a time of 39:37.52, qualifying her for the All-Atlantic meet
* Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) took third in the women's pole vault with a height of 3.47m
* Yenchik also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 4.94m
* Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) had a new PR in the 1500m run, taking sixth at 4:48.12
* In the 400m run, Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) finished in ninth place (1:00.90)
* Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) took tenth in the 5000m, finishing in 18:53.19
