Track and Field Set to Host Behrend Invitational Sunday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend track and field team is set to host the Behrend Invitational on Sunday beginning at 10 a.m.

* The Lions most recently competed at the Slippery Rock Invitational on Thursday
* Behrend had four athletes qualify for the All-Atlantic meet
* Antonio Stello (Punxsutawney, PA/Punxsutawney) qualified in the 200m dash, running a time of 22.20 for a second place finish
* In the discus, Dan Dabrowski (Erie, PA/Harborcreek) took home first place with an All-Atlantic qualifying throw of 45.56m
* Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) and Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) went one and two in the men's high jump with leaps of 2.06m and 2.01m, respectively. Both qualified for the All-Atlantic meet
* The men's track and field team holds a fifth-place ranking in the Mideast Region of NCAA Division III and a first place CSAC rank
* The women hold down the third spot in the CSAC rankings
* The Lions rank first in the Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) in 19 events
* On the women's side, Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) leads the pack in the 1500m (5:24.31) and the 5000m (20:12.01)
* Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca) has the top finishes in both the 1500m run and 5000m run on the men's side. He holds a time of 4:04.69 in the 1500 and 15:39.01 in the 5000
