Track and Field to Host Behrend Invitational on Sunday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's track and field team will host the Behrend Invitational on Sunday, April 24 beginning at 11 a.m.

Men's News & Notes:

* The Lions hold the top spot in eight different events within the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC)
* Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca) is first in the 1500m and the 5k
* Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) is second in the nation in the high jump with a mark of 2.08m
* Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) is tied for 12th in all of NCAA Division III with a 2.00m high jump
* Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harborcreek) is second in the conference with a 47.99m toss in discus which ranks 19th in the country
* Ryan Festa (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) Islam Daghestani (Meadville, PA/Meadville Area) and Lucas Makai (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Regional) hold the top-three spots in the CSAC in the pole vault

Women's News & Notes:

* Behrend claims the top seed in eight events within the CSAC
* Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) holds the top time in four events including a part of the 4x400 relay
* Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) reigns atop the CSAC in the 800m, 1500m and the 5k
* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) registered a mark of 3.10m in the pole vault on April 2 and that still stands as the top mark in the conference
* Nola, Laffan, Emily Ferrans (Bradfordwoods, PA/North Allegheny), Victoria Dieterich (Oakmont, PA/Riverview), Rachel Skoczlas (Bridgeville, PA/Canon-McMillan) and Shannon Burns (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson) all set personal records earlier this week at Slipper Rock
