Women's Track and Field Wins CSAC Title

ALFRED, N.Y. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team clinched their fifth Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship on Sunday and their first since 2019, finishing the weekend with 246 team points.

Noteworthy:

* Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) was named CSAC Track Athlete of the Year, securing victories in the 100m, 200m and 400m
* Laffan also played a role in clinching gold in the 4x100m and 4x400m relay
* In the 100m, Laffan set a personal record with a 12.73 finish in the finals
* Caroline Upham (Erie, PA/Iroquois) collected her third-straight CSAC medal with a first-place finish in the high jump (1.50m)
* The Lions earned 24 team points in the 800m having three top the finals
* Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) clinched gold as Emily Ferrans (Bradfordwoods, PA/North Allegheny) and Izzy Spires (Wattsburg, PA/Seneca) took second and third
* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) took first in the pole vault with a final mark of 2.75m
* Maria Campbell (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) finished second, finishing at 2.60m
* Savannah Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin)paced all competitors in the 3000m steeplechase, crossing at 13:10.20
