Women's Volleyball Opens Season at Morrisville State Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team will open the 2018 season at the Morrisville State Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, September 1 and 2.

Behrend News & Notes:
* Head Coach Phil Pisano begins his 15th year with the Lions. He sits on 278 career wins and needs 22 to reach the 300 mark. 
* The Lions won their fourth AMCC Championship last season and made their third NCAA Tournament appearance.
* Behrend finished the season with a 19-12 overall record and a conference record of 6-3.
* The team returns Lexi Irwin and Amanda Henry for their senior seasons.
* The Lions were picked to finish fourth in the AMCC in the annual preseason coaches poll.

Meet the Opposition:
* SUNY Poly lost in the NEAC quarterfinals last season to finish with an 11-16 overall record and 5-4 mark in conference play.
* Buffalo State finished the 2017 season with a 7-22 overall record. The Bengal's won their first and only conference championship in 2013.
* Morrisville State won their first-ever NEAC Championship last season, defeating Gallaudet 3-1 in the finals. The Mustangs historic season ended in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for a 24-7 overall record. Morrisville State returns both All-Region selections Megyan Merrill and Sam Wolf.
