ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team will the Northwest PA Challenge in the Junker Center open on Friday and Saturday, September 7 and 8.

* The Lions stand 4-2 after picking up a pair of wins on Friday night over St. Vincent and Marietta.
* Behrend defeated both SUNY Poly and Buffalo State 3-0, before falling to Oswego 3-2 and Morrisville State, 3-1
* Senior setter Lexi Irwin was named the AMCC Athlete of the Week for posting a triple-double and two double-doubles over the weekend. She tallied a career-high 38 assists, 13 digs and 10 kills vs. Oswego
* Irwin and Amanda Henry lead the team with 37 kills apiece, while Madison Clapper has recorded 77 digs in four matches
* The Lions were picked to finish fourth in the AMCC in the annual preseason coaches poll

Meet the Opposition:
* St. Vincent enters the weekend with a 3-1 record to start the season. The Bearcats went 2-1 opening weekend at their own tournament and recently defeated Mt. Aloysius 3-0 on Wednesday night
* The Marietta Pioneers are currently 2-2 overall and will face AMCC opponent Franciscan tonight before traveling to Behrend tomorrow. Marietta returns four starters from last year's 11-18 team
* Westminster are undefeated with a 4-0 mark. The Titans won the St. Vincent Invitational last weekend and then defeated La Roche 3-0 on Tuesday. Delaney Saxton was named PAC Player of the Week and to the All-Tournament Team
* Wooster are 3-2 on the young season. The Fighting Scots went 2-2 at the Mount Union Invitational last weekend. Wooster is riding a two-match winning streak after defeating Franciscan 3-0 on Tuesday night
