BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State women's volleyball team held off the Behrend women's volleyball team in five sets on day one of the Buffalo State Tournament held on Friday night.

Final Score: Buffalo State 3, Behrend 2 (25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 19-25, 15-3)
Records: Penn State Behrend (6-3), Buffalo State (4-5)

Key Moments:

* The Behrend Lions rallied back from a two-set deficit to force a fifth set
* The Bengals held Behrend to three points in the final set to earn their fifth win of the season and hand Behrend its third loss
* Hannah Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) registered her fourth double-double with a team-high 19 kills and adding 12 digs
* Sara Novak (Lower Burrell, PA/Burrell) added 13 kills, seven digs and five blocks
* Meg Goodsel (Corry, PA/Corry) pushed out 40 assists and Sarah Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) had a team-best 25 digs
* Down 2-0 in the match and tied 22-all in the third set, Phillips tallied a kill and then joined Taylor Goodspeed (Meadville, PA/Meadville) for a block on the final point to keep the match alive
* Phillips was also instrumental in the six-point set four victory, knocking down two straight kills to even the match at 2-all
* Buffalo State recorded 38 attack errors to Behrend's 21 and held a 10-3 advantage in service aces
