ERIE, Pa. – Five Penn State Behrend women's water polo team student-athletes have been recognized by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for their athletic and academic performance for the 2019 season.
Marcella Puglia (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk), Daniella Rios (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Sagrados Corazones), Remy De Guzman (Mission Viejo, CA/Trabuco Hills), Angela Laier (Lansing, MI/Holt), and Barbie Cessar (Slippery Rock, PA / Slippery Rock) were named to the All-Academic Team for achieving a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher and competing during the season.
Laier and Cessar earned Outstanding honors, registering a GPA between 3.71-4.0. Rios and De Guzman received Superior honors (3.41-3.70) while Puglia achieved Excellent honors (3.20-3.40).
