Behrend Women's Water Polo to Host W&J and Grove City for PSB Invite on Saturday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team hosts Washington & Jefferson and Grove City for the PSB Invite this weekend with matchups against the aforementioned at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Behrend News & Notes:

* Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) was named Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week
* Persch led the Lions in scoring last weekend, netting 12 goals over four games and helping Behrend to two wins
* Samantha Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) was selected to the CWPA Defensive Honor Roll for her efforts last week
* Darrell had four field blocks and five steals over the course of two wins while scoring six goals throughout the weekend
* Emily McNaughton (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) grabbed Offensive Honor Roll hitting double-digit goal totals over four games scoring 10, including multi-goal games in three-of-four games last week
* Behrend grabbed their first wins of the season last week over Connecticut and Utica
* The Lions held the two to a combined 10 goals in two games

Washington & Jefferson News & Notes:

* The Presidents are 5-4 and have victories over both Behrend (12-11) and Grove City (14-12) this season
* Washington & Jefferson also has wins over Utica and Caltech
* Last time out, the Presidents lost to #2 California Lutheran
* Ryley McLellan was named CWPA Player of the Week following an 11-goal performance en route to a 4-0 record in league play
* Cecelia Weiss was awarded CWPA Defensive Player of the Week having double-digit saves in three appearances with a total of 37

Grove City News & Notes:

* The Wolverines went 3-1 in CWPA action last weekend with their lone loss at the hands of Washington & Jefferson
* Overall, Grove City is 3-4 on the season
* In the league opener, Reese Trauger tallied a season-high eight goals
* Elaine Miller collected four goals while dishing out six assists against Behrend
