Women’s Water Polo Hosts CWPA Regional Tournament 2; Wright To Be Honored in Senior Ceremony

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team is set to host the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Regional Tournament 2 this Saturday and Sunday.

* The Lions last competed March 9-10 at the CWPA Regional Tournament 1 and finished with a 2-2 record
* Junior Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) scored her 100th career goal in a 15-5 win over Wheaton
* In Behrend's victory against Wheaton, Makenzie Rickerd (Rockford, MI/Rockford) recorded two scores, while Nic Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge), Dylan Scherping (Harleysville, PA/Souderton), Calla Williams (Longwood, FL/Lyman), Lauren True (Denton, TX/Guyer), Olivia Wright (Fairview, PA/Fairview), Susie Carrillo (Fresno, CA/Clovis North Educational Center), and Darragh Martin (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) each added a goal
​* This marked the first collegiate goal for True
* Goalie Monica Villasenor (San Gabriel, CA/La Salle) made 10 saves in net
* The Lions second victory in the first regional tournament came against Grove City (17-14)
* Carrillo and Persch each scored a game-high six goals, while Martin delivered a hat trick in the first period and finished with five goals vs. the Wolverines
* Prior to the team's 8 p.m. matchup with No. 9 Austin on Saturday, Wright will be honored in a senior ceremony
