Women's XC Finishes First in Behrend Invitational
The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team took first out of 11 teams in the 5k Behrend Invitational Saturday afternoon.
ERIE, Pa - The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team took first out of 11 teams in the 5k Behrend Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The Lions (65), who finished the race six points ahead of second place Westminster (71), had four girls finish in the top 25. Freshman Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) crossed the line first for Behrend and came in second overall with a time of 20:25.2. Point Park, Cuyahoga, and Houghton rounded out the top five with team scores of 84, 94, and 128, respectively.
Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) came in behind Crissman to finish second for the Lions and 6th overall with a time of 21:05.2. Caitlin Plazony (Fairview, PA/Fairview) finished third for Behrend and 10th overall and Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) came in fourth and 21st overall with times of 21:17 and 21:58.1, respectively.
The Lions will be back in action when they head to Houghton, NY on October 8th to compete in the Houghton Invitational.
