Women's Cross Country Run Away With All-Conference Honors; Crissman Named Runner Of The Year

ERIE, Pa - Penn State Behrend freshman Riley Crissman has been named 2016 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year. Crissman led the Lions to an AMCC conference title after finishing first for Behrend and third overall. The rookie led the Lions to four overall victories this year while finishing first for the team in every race except the first. She finished first overall in the Houghton Invitational with her best time of the season (19:12.30).

Head Coach Greg Cooper has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year for the second straight year and fifth of his career. Cooper guided the Lions to back-to-back conference titles, including four in the past five years.

Behrend had eight runners finish in the top 15 at the AMCC Championships, earning them All-Conference honors.

Senior Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny), who was the AMCC Runner of the Year in 2015, made the All-Conference team for the second straight year. She is joined by sophomores Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) and Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) who also earned their second All-Conference honor.

Junior Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) and freshman teammates Caitlin Plazoney (Fairview, PA/Fairview), Rebecca Worley (Townville, PA/Maplewood) and Erica Koenig (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) were selected to the All-Conference team for the first time.
