Carr Headlines AMCC All-Conference Honors

ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Behrend junior Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) was named the 2019 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women's Runner of the Year for the second time in her career. Carr led Penn State Behrend and was the top women's runner at the 2019 AMCC Cross Country Championships. Carr finished first overall in the race with a time of 22:10.4. Her time beats the all-time AMCC Championship record which was set by Catie Bertges from Behrend in 2013 (22:34). The junior from Franklin, PA is a mechanical engineering major.

The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team placed eight runners on the 2019 All-AMCC team.  Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) and Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) took second and third, respectively while Julia Fasiczka (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin), Hanna Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview, Erica Koenig (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin), Emily Ferrans (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny), and Caitlin Plazony (Fairview, PA/Fairview) all finished in the Top-15.

In addition to the women, seven Penn State Behrend men's cross country runners earned All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference honors. Leading the way for Penn State Behrend was Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca). Myers was the top Behrend performer at the 2019 AMCC Cross Country Championships, finishing fourth overall with a time 26:01.4 for the 8K race.

Joining Myers were Zach Wortman (St. Mary's, PA/Elk County Catholic), Jake Lehotsky (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), Zach Tingley (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview), Aidan Domencic (Cranberry Twp, PA/Seneca Valley), Nick Temel (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Lake), and Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview).
