Carr, Spires Headline AMCC All-Conference Honors

ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Behrend senior Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) was named the 2021 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women's Runner of the Year for the third time in her career. Carr led Penn State Behrend and was the top women's runner at the 2021 AMCC Cross Country Championships. Carr finished first overall in the race with a time of 24:18.88. The senior from Franklin, PA is a mechanical engineering major.

Sophomore Izzy Spires (Wattsburg, PA/Seneca) was named at AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Spires finished in third place with a time of 25:39.41 and was the top newcomer in the race.

The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team placed six runners on the 2021 All-AMCC team.  Jessie Johnson (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) and Spires took second and third, respectively while Emily Ferrans (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny), Allysyn O'Connor (Angola, NY/Lake Shore Central), and Kira Nicholson (Scottdale, PA/Southmoreland) all finished in the Top 15.

Head coach Greg Cooper was named the AMCC Coach of the Year for the seventh time of his career.
