Three Named AMCC Athletes of the Week

Three Penn State Behrend student-athletes were named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week, announced Monday.

Setter Hannah Saunders (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) was chosen Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week after tallying 101 assists, 24 digs, 11 kills and five aces over three matches to help the Behrend women's volleyball team secure their fourth AMCC title on Sunday. She had a double-double with 46 assists and 12 digs in the championship match against La Roche. Saunders was also named to the AMCC All-Tournament Team.

Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) was selected as Offensive Player of the Week after notching the game-winning goal in the 88th minute to lift Behrend past Franciscan to help capture their seventh straight AMCC title. She also was able to convert the second penalty kick in the shootout against D'Youville on Wednesday in the semifinals. 

Michael Bauer (Northampton, PA/ Northampton) earned Swimmer of the Week after being a triple winner in the 155-46 victory over Chatham. He was one of four that made up the opening winning 200 medley relay team (1:43.63). Bauer then won the 100 breaststroke (1:06.21) and then was nine seconds faster than second place in the 200 backstroke with a first-place time of 2:05.51.
