Behrend Athletics Announces 2020 Hall of Fame Class

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend will induct nine individuals into the College's Athletics Hall of Fame in Spring 2021. Kayla Frost '10, Josh Fyffe '10, Brooke Gallentine '10, Kevin Gorny '10, Andy Iams '10, Joe Nelson '10, Sheila Ogden '10, and former colleague Robert Wittman are the individuals to be recognized. In addition, the six 10-year anniversary AMCC Championship teams along with the 2010 ECAC Men's Basketball Championship team will be honored.

Kayla Frost '10 (Pittsburgh, PA/Peters Township)
Frost became one of the top goalkeepers in the history of Penn State Behrend women's soccer from 2006-09. The three-time All-AMCC choice led Behrend to a pair of regular-season and overall AMCC Championships (2006, 2007). Her senior year, Frost led the conference in goals-against average (0.13) to earn her NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region honors along with Team MVP and First Team All-Conference accolades. Frost ranks second all-time in saves (344) and shutouts (26), while ranking third in games played (69).

Josh Fyffe '10 (Pittsburgh, PA/Sharpsville)
Fyffe is a name that decorates the Penn State Behrend baseball record book. He set the career hits, batting average, games played, at-bats and assists record while sitting second in runs, doubles, triples, home runs and RBIs. Fyffe set records from 2007-10 but he also garnered many accolades. He was a four-time All-Conference choice, two-time AMCC Player of the Year, three-time All-Region, two-time All-American, 2009 ECAC South Region Player of the Year and 2010 Behrend Male Athlete of the Year. Fyffe also set single-season records with 87 hits and 68 runs his senior year.

Brooke Gallentine Muraco '10 (Mt. Pleasant, PA/Southmoreland)
Gallentine was a four-year starter for the women's volleyball team from 2006-09. She helped the Lions to a 94-36 record in her four years while making three appearances in the ECAC Tournament, capturing the championship in 2008. Gallentine registered 4,170 career assists to place her second on the all-time list. She also collected 1,226 digs, good for eighth place in the record books. Gallentine capped her career with the coveted Behrend Co-Female Athlete of Year honor. She was also a four-time All-Conference selection, earning first-team accolades her junior and senior year.

Kevin Gorny '10 (Erie, PA/McDowell)
Gorny was the top runner for the Penn State Behrend cross country and track and field teams from 2006-09. He was a four-time All-Conference honoree in cross country. Gorny was named AMCC Newcomer of the Year in 2006, before becoming a two-time AMCC Champion and Runner of the Year. He led the Behrend pack to three consecutive AMCC Championships (07, 08, 09). In track and field, Gorny was a three-time Mason Dixon Steeple Chase Conference Champion. He still holds Top 10 marks in the 1-mile run, 3K, and 5K for indoor track. Gorny also qualified for the indoor and outdoor ECAC Championships during his career.

Andy Iams '10 (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn-Trafford)
Iams was a three-sport athlete for Penn State Behrend from 2006-09. The two-time captain for the cross country team was just one of 30 athletes in the 23 years of the AMCC to earn All-Conference honors all four years. Iams led the Lions to three AMCC Championships and was named to the North East All-Region Team his junior year. He was a Mason-Dixon Champion in the 10,000 run in track and field, and earned All-Conference honors. Iams was the President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for three years and a member of the NCAA National SAAC Conference. He went on to earn three service awards from the college his senior year.

Joe Nelson '10 (Warren, PA/Warren)
Nelson was Behrend's most decorated men's golfer from 2006-09. He won four tournaments over his career, including the AMCC Individual Championship in 2008. In 2009, Nelson led the Lions to the AMCC Championship and was named AMCC Golfer of the Year. He is a three-time All-Conference selection, earning first-team honors his junior and senior year. Nelson was named to the AMCC All-Sportsmanship Team three times and was a member of Chi Alpha Sigma.

Sheila Ogden '10 (Grove City, PA/Grove City)
Ogden was a four-year starter and four-time All-AMCC choice for the Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team from 2006-09. She led the Lions to a 94-36 overall record and an unprecedented 34-3 mark in conference play during her career. Ogden helped Behrend capture its first and only ECAC Championship in 2008. She was a four-time All-AMCC honoree, earning first-team accolades her final three seasons and Team MVP her sophomore year. Ogden knocked down 1,161 career kills and still ranks third all-time.

Robert Wittman (Pittsburgh, PA/Penn Hills)
Wittman spent nearly 30 years as the Intramural & Recreational Programs and Facilities Coordinator at Penn State Behrend. He was responsible for leading, organizing and evaluating all aspects of the intramural, fitness and club sport programs, while managing the multi-purpose Junker Center. Alongside the coordination of intramural programs, Wittman spent nine years as an assistant women's basketball coach for the Lions.
