Behrend Bowling Readies for AMCC Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's bowling team will ship out to Beaver Falls, PA on Thursday in preparation of the first day of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament (AMCC) on Friday. The Lions enter as the No. 4 seed and will square off with No. 5 La Roche in the opening contest at 10 a.m. Each match over the course of the tournament will be a megamatch, consisting of a singular traditional match, Baker five-game total pinfall and a Baker best-of-seven.

* Behrend compiled a conference mark of 9-7, the best in program history to earn the No. 4 seed
* The Lions excelled during the Baker portion of the AMCC Round Robin, collecting five wins with four coming in one day
* Against the Redhawks, Behrend went 1-1 with a win in Baker but a loss in traditional format
* Bella Pilyih (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler Area) leads the Lions in team scoring with an average of 165.4
* Reegan Malis (Bulter, PA/Butler) paces Behrend with a Baker average of 17.69, good enough for 12th in the conference
* During the second round robin, Malis and Ashley Debich (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area) each rolled a 196 in separate games that would tie for the teams' single-game high on the weekend

* No. 1 St. Vincent and No. 2 Medaille each earned a first-round bye
* The Bearcats clinched the top seed with a 14-2 conference record
* The Mavericks are looking for their fifth-straight AMCC Title
* The other opening round matchup will feature No. 3 Pitt-Bradford and No. 6 Mt. Aloysius
* Prior to Medaille going on a four-year run, the Mounties were the last school to wear the conference crown, doing so in 2016
