ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team will host the Hilbert Hawks on Wednesday in their Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) opener on Wednesday afternoon.

* The Lions have won seven in a row, including a pair over Fredonia on Sunday to take back the I-90 Cup
* Senior hurler Phil Myers (DuBois, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) threw a complete game in a 2-1 game-one victory
* Myers went the distance and allowed one earned run and struck out four to register a 1.29 ERA
* Last week, Scott Sada (Saegertown, PA/Saegertown) smacked four doubles and a triple in his six hits for the week

* Hilbert is 2-10 this season and is coming off 5-1 and 9-7 losses against Houghton on Friday
* Junior infielder Griffith DeMayo leads the team with 14 hits, eight RBIs and four doubles

Series History

* The Lions have a commanding 42-3 record against the Hawks dating back to the 1996 season
* Last year, the teams split during the regular season and then met again in the AMCC playoffs
* Hilbert won the opener 2-1 and the Lions battled to a 13-1 victory in the nightcap
* In the AMCC first round, Behrend swept the Hawks 4-1 and 9-8
