ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend baseball senior pitcher Thomas Zbezinski (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland) and sophomore outfielder Juston Jones (Moon Township, PA/Moon) were selected Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively.

Zbezinski made his first start of the season on Saturday at Hiram, pitching five innings and striking out eight batters for the win. The hurler only allowed four hits and one walk to keep an unblemished ERA.

Jones posted nine hits, six RBIs, three triples and one double in four wins for the Lions. He was instrumental in adding an insurance run in game one against Altoona with an RBI double in the top of the seventh. Jones also added a 4-for-5 outing in game two against the Lions. After six games, he ranks third in the AMCC in batting average (.550) and RBIs (9).

Behrend has its home opener tomorrow against Allegheny. The single-nine inning begins at 3 p.m.
