Baseball to Honor Seniors in AMCC Game of the Week Saturday

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team hosts Penn State Altoona for the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Game of the Week and Senior Day on Saturday. First pitch of the first game is set for 1 p.m.

* The Behrend Lions are honoring the seven seniors pregame
* Seniors include Caleb Caldwell (Frewsburg, NY/Frewsburg), Dom Charletta (West Newton, PA/Yough), Tanner Cicchini (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair), Christian Pacifico (Somerset, PA/Somerset), Braden Paulinellie (DuBois, PA/DuBois), Noah Schneider (DuBois, PA/DuBois) and Josh Wagner (South Park, PA/South Park) 
* The seniors have helped the Lions advance to the AMCC Tournament twice and make an appearance in the ECAC Tournament semifinals.
* Behrend recently split an AMCC doubleheader on Wednesday with Pitt-Bradford on the road
* The Lions relied on starting hurler Derrick Shields (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) in a game-one shutout
* Behrend posted a 7-0 win behind Shields first complete game and eight strikeouts
* Shields only allowed three hits in game one for his third win of the season
* The Lions enter the game with a 10-3 overall record and 3-1 conference mark

* The Altoona Lions have a 4-8 overall record and 2-2 AMCC mark, good enough for fourth in the conference standings behind the Behrend Lions
* The Lions fell 3-1 and 10-8 to non-conference Wilson on Thursday
* First baseman Catcher Cumming was named AMCC Player of the Week, D3baseball.com Team of the Week and NCBWA DIII National Hitter of the Week honors
* Cummings set a new Altoona record for home runs in a single game with three against Medaille
* Cummings also hit a grand slam for a total of seven RBI and three runs scored, while batting .571
* Hurler Kyle Glass ranks third in the AMCC with a 1.50 ERA, making four appearances for 12 innings of work
