Behrend Baseball Faces No. 8 Rowan in NCAA Regional Tournament Thursday

MARIETTA, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend baseball team will travel to Marietta, Ohio for the 2021 NCAA Division III Regional hosted by Marietta College on May 27-30. The sixth-seeded Lions (25-11) will face top-seeded No. 8 Rowan (25-4) in the first round on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Six teams will compete at eight regional sites. All regionals will use a double-elimination format. Winners of the eight regional tournaments will qualify for the pool play double-elimination championship at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Friday-Tuesday/Wednesday, June 4-8/9, 2021.

The Lions will be making their fifth overall trip to the NCAA Tournament and first since 2013. Behrend, down a game in the AMCC Championship series, won two straight games against top-seed La Roche 6-4 and 7-5 to earn the conference's automatic bid. Behrend holds a 2-8 all-time record in the tournament with both wins coming in 2010 against Wooster and Thomas More.
