PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team extended its winning streak to eight straight games with a doubleheader sweep at La Roche Sunday.
Game One: Penn State Behrend 9, La Roche 4
Records: Penn State Behrend (15-6, 5-0 AMCC), La Roche (9-19, 3-6 AMCC)
Key Moments:
* The Redhawks took a 1-0 in the bottom of the second on a Behrend miscue in the outfield
* The Lions grabbed the lead (4-1) with four runs on five hits in the top of the third
* Dylan Barnes (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills), Daniel Boehme (Peters Township, PA/Seton LaSalle), and Tyler Burick (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) each delivered RBIs in the inning
* La Roche knotted the score at four apiece with an RBI single from Tanner Schmitt
* A Boehme two-out RBI single in the top of the fourth gave Behrend the lead once again (5-4)

* Game two starter Andrew Bredel (Clinton, PA/Burgettstown) worked out of a bases loaded no-out jam in the bottom of the first with a pair of strikeouts and a foul out
* Behrend scored a combined seven runs in the second and third innings
* The big blows in those innings were RBI singles from Ionadi, Mac Ciocco (Venetia, PA/Peters Township), and Adam Cooper (State College, PA/State College)
* Burick tallied a run batted in and a run scored in the top of the sixth to extend Behrend's lead to 9-0
* An RBI single by Josh Dreyer gave the Redhawks their first run of game two in the bottom half of the sixth
* The 10th run of the contest came courtesy of an RBI single in the top of the seventh from Ionadi
