Lions Open AMCC Action Against Hawks on Wednesday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team will be back in action Wednesday night, opening their Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) schedule on the road against the Hilbert Hawks at 7:30 p.m.

* The Lions dropped an exhibition matchup against Cleveland St. last Saturday, 89-47
* Their last official contest resulted in a loss to Baldwin Wallace, 69-64
* Kenny Fukon (Cranberry Twp., PA/Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic) has had three-straight games with a double-double and is averaging 19.6 points per contest this season
* Tommy DiRienzo (Pittsburgh, PA/Bethel Park) sank three from beyond the arc and collected his first double-double of his career (15 points, 10 rebounds) in the loss to the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday
* Behrend has not lost when recording more rebounds than the opponent
* In games decided by more than five points, the Lions are a perfect 3-0

* The Hawks are 4-3 overall, recently defeating Keuka on Saturday, 99-98
* The Hilbert offense is averaging 79.9 points per game but are allowing 82.4 on average
* As a team, the Hawks are shooting 42.1 percent
* Shawn Gashi tops all players in scoring average and has broken double-digits in six of seven games played
* Jahmel Demery put up 20 points against John Carroll for a season high as well as grabbing a team-high 12 rebounds
* Shaheem Ellis was 5-for-11 from three-point territory against Franciscan and finished with 24 points in the win

* Penn State Behrend holds the advantage in the series with a record of 36-9 against Hilbert
