ERIE,  Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team earned a 2-0 shutout victory on Friday night over visiting No. 24 John Carroll University.

Key Moments:

* Christian Eckberg (Pittsburgh, PA/Norwin)  got the Behrend Lions on the board first in the 8th minute with his second goal of the season. 
* Nick Schwarzel (South Park, PA/South Park) scored in the 62nd minute to put PSB up two midway through the second half.  Richard Blanchard (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) and Michael DiCola (Beaver, PA/Beaver Area) got credit for the assist on Schwarzel's goal.
* Senior goalie Chris Ralph (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) tallied three saves and posted his second shutout of the season in route to his second win.

Noteworthy:

* John Carroll was ranked No. 24 in the United Soccer Coaches DIII Top 25 Preseason Poll.
