Men's Soccer Travels to NY; Lions Face Mt. St. Vincent and Potsdam

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team will travel to New York for a pair of non-conference games this weekend. The Lions will travel to Valhalla High School, the alma mater of head coach Dan Perritano, to face Mt. St. Vincent on Friday at 7 p.m. and then battle Potsdam on Sunday at West Point Prep in West Point, NY.

* The Lions captured the Herb Lauffer Memorial Soccer Tournament last weekend with a pair of wins
* Behrend defeated Alfred 6-3 in the opening game and then posted a 3-2 decision over Baldwin Wallace in the championship game
* Freshman forward Jordan Floyd (Plum, PA/Plum) was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Offensive Player of the Week for scoring four goals and adding an assist for nine points
* Floyd tallied two goals each day, including the game winner vs. the Yellow Jackets to earn Tournament MVP honors
* Junior forward Richard Blanchard (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) added a game-winning goal and two assists on the weekend
* The Lions were picked to finish first in the AMCC in the annual preseason coaches poll

Mt. St. Vincent News & Notes:

* The Dolphins are 0-2 to start the season
* Mt. St. Vincent fell to Rowan 4-0 and Rutgers-Camden 5-1 in the Glimore Classic
* Sory Konate tallied the lone goal in a pair of games for the Dolphins
* Mt. St. Vincent was picked to finish 10th out of 12 teams in the Skyline Conference
* The Dolphins posted a 3-15 record last season

Potsdam News & Notes:

* The Bears are looking to remain undefeated on the season after a 2-0 start
* Potsdam defeated Dehli 3-0 on Friday and then posted a 7-0 victory vs. Paul Smith's College
* The Bears have not surrendered a goal this season
* Alejandro Callejas leads the team with three goals, while Teddy Bruschini has two goals and two assists
* Mt. St. Vincent registered a 4-11-2 record a year ago
