Men's Swimming Heads to Penn State Altoona on Saturday

ERIE, Pa.  – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team will travel to Altoona, Pennsylvania to take on the Penn State Altoona Lions at the Alder Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. Meet begins at 1 p.m.

* The Behrend Lions finished in second place at the three-day Oberlin Invite back on Nov. 18-20
* Over the three day meet, the Lions set 41 personal-best times and 44 season-best times
* Freshman Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) took down Nick Roth's 200 butterfly team record while setting a conference record
* Compton touched the wall in 1:52.85 in the 200 butterfly to capture first place
* Compton also tallied a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:42.20) and added a third-place finish in the 100 butterfly in 51.82, while swimming on the winning 800 free relay (7:00.32)

* The Altoona Lions also competed at the Oberlin Invite before Thanksgiving break
* Altoona took seventh out of nine teams with a score of 487 points
* Luke Pletz qualified to compete in three 'A' finals in individual swims at the Oberlin Invite
* Pletz claimed third place in the 100 backstroke by finishing in 53.07 and placed fourth in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.12
