Men's Swimming and Diving Celebrates Senior Day Saturday

ERIE, Pa.  – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team celebrates Senior Day with a dual meet against Division II Gannon on Saturday afternoon in the Junker Center Pool. Meet begins at 1 p.m.

* The men's team will honor the six seniors before the meet including: James Connolly (Allentown, PA/Parkland), Justin Heller (Franklin, PA/Rocky Grove), Gibson Hoce (Palm Harbor, FL/Palm Harbor University High), Matt Karenbauer (Butler, PA/Knoch), Jake Schmidt (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) and George Zalar (Shamokin, PA/Shamokin)
* Last time out, the Lions set 12 team records on the road at Nazareth
* 10 different swimmers attributed to the new record, including four by Schmidt
* Schmidt was a part of the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay that set new records, while breaking the 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle
* Karenbauer also set four records for the Lions (50 back leading off the 200 medley relay, 200 medley relay, 100 backstroke, 400 free relay)

Gannon News & Notes

* Gannon will celebrate the two seniors on the men's side prior to the beginning of the meet
* The Golden Knights last competed on Jan. 22 at Cleveland State, falling 236-63
* Gannon has not had a home meet this year
* The Golden Knights were selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-American Team thanks to a 3.39 fall grade-point average
* Gannon enters with a 4-3 dual-meet record
