Compton Named AMCC Swimmer and Newcomer of the Year

ERIE, Pa. – Freshman Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) has been named the 2022 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Swimmer and Newcomer of the Year, headlining the All-AMCC team announced on Friday.

Compton was named the AMCC Empire 8 Swimmer of the Meet last weekend for winning three individual championships and breaking the AMCC Meet record in the 200 butterfly (1:53.39). The Lions had seven other swimmers selected to the All-Conference Team after helping Behrend finish second at the AMCC Championship Meet. The Behrend Lions had nine first-team honors and 24 second-team accolades. Compton tallied seven All-Conference honors, while Jake Schmidt (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) registered two first team and four second team awards
