ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team opens their season with a home match against non-conference Baldwin Wallace on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Behrend News & Notes:

* The Lions enter the 2022 season the reigning Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Champions
* Behrend finished 11-14 overall and 4-1 in conference play
* The Lions defeated Medaille in the AMCC semifinals and then posted a 5-1 victory over Penn State Altoona for the AMCC title
* Behrend returns all six All-AMCC players from last year's team
* Senior Mitchell May (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) was a two-time first-team selection last season for singles and doubles
* Sophomore Jonathan Laier (Lansing, MI/Holt) returns after leading the team with a 12-10 overall record at No. 1 singles
* May and Laier teamed up to be the Lions best duo from a year ago, earning a 14-8 record in the top spot
