Three Named CSAC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend track and field athletes Matt Michael (Erie, PA/Iroquois), Emily Mischen (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes), and Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area) were named Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) athletes of the week, announced on Tuesday.

Michael earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Westminster Invitational on Saturday. Michael took fourth place in the shot put event with a toss of 14.61m. This throw became second best in school history in the event. He also competed in the discus, finishing 12th out of 55 participants (36.16m).

Mischen was chosen for Women's Field Athlete of the Week after breaking the school record in the shot put. Mischen's throw of 11.11m broke Penn State Behrend's oldest track and field school record, earning her ninth place. She is now ranked first out of nine in the CSAC in the event.

Crissman was recognized as the Women's Track Athlete of the Week this week. Crissman competed in the 5000m run where she picked up second place with a time of 18:27.11. This time was a personal best for Crissman,
