Men's Water Polo Season Recap; Team Awards

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team announced their team awards on Wednesday after finishing the season with a program-high seven wins.

Key Moments:
* Matt Olimski (San Diego, CA/Otay Ranch) earned the team Most Valuable Player award while Jeffery Eliott (San Antonio, TX/Brandeis) was named Most Improved
* Jacob Harkins (Hollywood, FL/Saint Thomas Aquinas was voted Rookie of the Year for the season
* Isaak Hatopp (Saline, MI/Saline) took home the Sportsmanship/Leadership award, voted on by the team
* The Lions won seven games this season, a program best
* Behrend took down their first NCAA Division I team, beating Iona 12-11 on October 18
* The Lions finished in fifth place in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament, defeating Austin in the final game
* Behrend took home third place at the DIII Eastern Championships for the second year in a row
* Hatopp and Olimski were named to the All-Tournament team
* Junior goalkeeper Olimski picked up All-MPSF Honorable Mention honors for his second consecutive year 
* Olimski talled 266 saves and 43 steals on the season
* Andre Sandaryzadeh (Murrieta, CA/Elsinore) led the team with 38 goals while Hatopp tallied a team-high 56 points on 36 goals and 20 assists
* Harkins broke the record for most field blocks in a season as a freshman
* Hatopp broke the career record for field blocks tallying 49 throughout his four years
