ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's cross country teams will begin their seasons this Saturday, March 13 at the Run in the Park Invite hosted by Mercyhurst.

* The Lions regular season which takes place in the fall was cancelled due to COVID-19, pushing it back to the spring
* Behrend will be competing Saturday against Gannon and Mercyhurst to tune up for the AMCC Championship on Sunday, March 28 at La Roche
* Last season, the women's team won the AMCC Championship with Savanna Carr (Frankin, PA/Franklin Area) leading the way with a first place victory
* The men's side placed second out of nine teams in the AMCC Championship in 2019
* The men's team consists of three seniors, four juniors, four sophomores, and four freshmen
* The women return one senior, two juniors, and four sophomores while welcoming two freshmen
* Head Coach Greg Cooper enters his 13th season at the helm of the cross country programs
