Hilbert Softball Takes Two From Behrend Lions
The Hilbert softball team snapped a 21-game losing streak to Penn State Behrend with a 10-9 win and a 12-10 victory in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday afternoon.

HAMBURG, NY – The Hilbert softball team snapped a 21-game losing streak to Penn State Behrend with a 10-9 win and a 12-10 victory in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks were declared winners of game two in the seventh inning due to darkness.
Game One: Hilbert 10, Penn State Behrend 9
Records: Penn State Behrend (7-12, 2-1 AMCC), Hilbert (9-7, 4-1 AMCC)
Key Moments:
* Hilbert handed the Lions their first loss in conference play with a walk-off homer
* In the top of the seventh inning, Behrend used six hits to score five runs and take their first lead of the game
* The frame started with three straight extra-base hits, beginning with a Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) double followed by a Julia Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg) triple
* Megan Petitte (Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) then smacked her second home run of the season to get the Lions within one run
* With two outs, Behrend tallied two more runs including one by Athena Iverson (Pittsburgh, PA/The Ellis School) who scored on a Hannah Smith (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) double
* After Kaitlin Stolowski got walked to lead off the bottom of the seventh, Alana Yadov hit a two-run home run to end the game
* Behrend had four players with two hits, while Petitte was 3-for-4
* Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) is now five strikeouts away from 200 career K's
* Tingley allowed eight earned runs on 14 hits and Yadov got the win being the final pitcher in the seventh inning

Key Moments:
* The win marked the first time Hilbert swept the Lions since 2013
* The game was halted due to darkness in the seventh inning with the Hawks holding a two-run lead
* The teams combined for 22 runs on 22 hits with each committing an error
* Hilbert only trailed for a half inning to start the game
* Isabel Pozar (Flagstaff, AZ/Coconino) reached first with a walk and McNany hit her first of two doubles for a 1-0 lead
* The Hawks responded with five runs on five hits in their first at-bat for a 5-1 lead

* Lauren Rabanal (San Diego, CA/Westview) started in the circle and Jones came in to pitch the final 5.1 innings for the loss
