ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend softball team swept Penn State Altoona in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) doubleheader on Friday afternoon. The Lions won 14-4 in five innings and 11-3 in six innings.
Game One: Penn State Behrend 14, Penn State Altoona 4 (5)
Records: Penn State Behrend (12-15, 7-4 AMCC), Penn State Altoona (19-10, 9-2 AMCC)
Key Moments:
* Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run to help the Lions defeat Altoona in five innings
* Sierra Williams (Grove City, PA/Lakeview) went 2-for-4 with three RBIs
* Pitcher Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) fanned three batters and allowed one earned run on six hits for her sixth win in the circle
* Behrend led 3-2 after the first inning and then exploded for 11 more runs over the next four innings, including six runs in the third
* The Lions produced 14 runs on 16 hits while relying on four Altoona errors
* McNany smacked her home run in the second inning to score a pair of runs
