Behrend Softball Splits on Day One of AMCC Championships
The Penn State Behrend softball team opened the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships with an 8-0 win in six innings against Pitt-Bradford, before falling 4-3 to Penn State Altoona in game two.

Game One: Penn State Behrend 8, Pitt-Bradford 0 (6)

Key Moments:
* Pitcher Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) recorded her second shutout of the season, giving up only three total hits in six innings of work
* The Lions scattered eight runs in the six innings off 12 hits
* Meghan Petitte (Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI
* Athena Iverson (Pittsburgh, PA/The Ellis School) was a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI, knocking in Petitte in the second inning for the first run of the game
* In the second inning, Sierra Williams (Grove City, PA/Lakeview) smacked her second home run of the season and ninth career to also send Petitte home for a 3-0 lead
* With two outs in the fifth, Petitte drove in Chloe Nale (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) to extend the lead to 4-0

* The No. 1 seed Altoona used a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to erase a two-run deficit and take the lead for good
* The Altoona Lions got on the board first in the opening frame
* Three hits, including a double by Williams scored a run in the second to even the score at 1-all
* Karma Malcolm (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) got her first collegiate home run in the top of the fourth inning to score a pair of runs to give Behrend a 3-1 lead
* Madison Kennedy made her only hit of the game count with a home run to left field to score two with no outs for a 4-3 lead
* Behrend was held without a hit in the final two innings
* Tingley, who got the win in game one, went the distance in game two for the loss
* Iverson went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Behrend Lions
