Robert Byrd returns to the sidelines for his sixth season with the Behrend Lady Lions basketball program. Byrd served as the team manager in the 2016-2017 season and has since transitioned to a role as an assistant coach.

 

Byrd is a 2013 graduate from Ridgway Area High School where he helped the Elkers win the Elk County Holiday Tournament, Allegheny Mountain League, the District 9 Title, and a state semifinal appearance in the 2011-2012 season. In addition to his play on the floor, he was awarded the Frank Clark Memorial Award for his outstanding representation of character both on and off the court.

 

Robert is a 2017 graduate of Penn State Behrend where he obtained a degree in Project and Supply Chain Management with a minor in Management Information Systems. He also served as an Intramural Supervisor for three years under the direction of Rob Wittman and a volunteer for the Penn State Behrend Team Basketball Camp.

 

Byrd currently is employed at Erie Insurance.
