Women's Soccer Heads to Franciscan Saturday

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team will travel to Franciscan on Saturday for an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) contest. The game is set for 1 p.m.

* The Lions are currently 5-6 this season, coming off a 1-0 loss to No. 12 Carnegie Mellon
* After scoring 12 goals in three goals, the Lions were tamed at CMU and held to two shots
* Behrend is tied for first in the AMCC with three other teams
* The Lions enter the contest with a 3-0 conference record
* Brenna McGuire was named the ECAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Month for netting nine goals and registering 21 points in 11 contests for the Lions. She has also named AMCC Offensive Athlete of the Week

* The Barons are also undefeated in AMCC play with a 3-0 record and are 4-6 overall
* All three conference wins have been by a 3-0 score including against La Roche on Wednesday
* Franciscan has 10 different players with a goal on the season, led by Emily Wieszczek with four
* As a team, the Barons are averaging 1.90 goals per game  

Series History:

* The Lions hold a commanding 14-1 lead against the Barons in the all-time series that begin in 2008
* Behrend has won five straight vs. Franciscan, including a pair of wins last season
* The Lions defeated the Barons 3-0 during the regular season and 3-2 in the AMCC semifinals
* The only Franciscan win was a 2-1 victory in 2014
