Behrend's head tennis coach Jeff Barger is entering his 25th year at the helm of the program. Barger is a USTA High Performance Coach and is professionally ranked with Professional Tennis Registry. 

Barger has led the women's tennis team to 14 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) crowns, including the most recent title in 2021. The team won seven straight championships from 2004-11.

Barger has been voted the AMCC Coach of the Year a combined 17 times and is the all-time leader in men's and women's coaching victories. His women's tennis winning percentage is impressive at 67 percent and ranks first in the Behrend record books. Barger has taken the women to 10 undefeated seasons in the AMCC, a 263-159 overall record and a 135-33 conference mark during his tenure.

On the men's side, Barger led the Lions to eight AMCC titles including the last one in 2023. His record as men's coach stands at 235-235, and 118-38 in the conference.

Previously, Barger was the girl's tennis coach at Ripley High School for four seasons, and a letterwinner in tennis for the Fredonia State Blue Devils. He earned a degree in business from Fredonia State. He also serves as a lecturer of health and physical education at Penn State Behrend.
