Lions Prepare for Home Invitational

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track & field program will compete in the Behrend Invitational at home on Saturday.

Behrend News & Notes

* The Lions will compete in their annual home meet this weekend
* Behrend most recently competed in the SRU Open on Thursday at Slippery Rock
* The Lions had two first place in the meet
* Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:42.19
* Sargent is ranked first in the Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) in the event
* Senior Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch) finished first in the 800m run, running a 2:21.40
* Shelton's time boosted her to first place in the CSAC
* Behrend had three more Top 5 finishes
* Savanna Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin Area) took second in the 500m run, Gabriella Loeffler (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) finished third in the 200m dash, and Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) pulled in third in the pole vault
