Three Earn CWPA Recognition, Dodgen Tabbed Weekly Defensive Standout

ERIE, Pa. – The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) tabbed three from the Behrend women's water polo team for Player of the Week honors, announced Wednesday night.

Chloe Dodgen (Riverside, CA/Hillcrest) highlights the accolades by clinching Defensive Player of the Week, helping the Lions to a 3-1 weekend during league play in between the pipes. Dodgen tallied 30 saves, four steals and four assists in four games with the spotlight shining on a nine-save victory in overtime against Grove City.

Emily McNaughton (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) was named to the Player of the Week Honor Roll for her performance last weekend, including a total of seven tallies offensively. McNaughton added seven drawn kickouts and two steals to the ledger while dishing out six assists for 13 points. In the double overtime victory, McNaughton scored four goals in 29 seconds, including the tying and game-winning goal against the Wolverines.

Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) rounds out the trio of accolades as a Rookie of the Week Honor Roll selection. Persch totaled 11 goals and five assists for 16 points while coming away with four steals, five drawn kickouts and a drawn penalty shot. Her weekend was highlighted by a four-goal performance against Grove City.
