ERIE, Pa. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced the academic awards for women's water polo for the Spring 2022 season on Tuesday, presenting seven from Penn State Behrend with accolades.
Angela Laier (Lansing, MI/Holt), Samantha Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) and Olivia Wright (Fairview, PA/Fairview) were each ranked in the outstanding category for carrying a grade-point average (GPA) above 3.70. Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville), Shannon Young (Roseville, CA/Roseville) and Kayla Scarpaci (Cypress, TX/Langham Creek) each earned superior status as they finished with a GPA greater than 3.40. Emily McNaughton (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) rounds out the list, achieving the status of excellent with a mark above 3.20.
