2009 Softball

The 2009 Penn State Behrend softball team won the program’s fourth AMCC championship and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

The Lions compiled an outstanding 33-8 overall record and finished undefeated at 18-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play. Penn State Behrend defeated Frostburg State in the AMCC playoffs and advanced to play Buffalo State in the NCAA Tournament.

Julie Koman and Amy Greene led the postseason accolades for the Lions. Koman was named the AMCC Player of the Year while Greene earned Newcomer of the Year. Behrend had five first team all-conference selections, four second team, and one honorable mention.
