Penn State Behrend faced The College of New Jersey in the opening game of the Mid-Atlantic Regional in Lakewood, NJ on Wednesday, May 13.  The #4 Behrend Lions dropped a 13-1 game to the #5 seeded TCNJ Lions.

Behrend got on the board first as Ryan Liddle (DuBois/DuBois) singled and stole second base to start off the bottom of the third inning.  Ryan Geibel's (East Butler/Butler) sacrifice sent Liddle to third with one out.  The Behrend Lions designated hitter sat 90 feet from home with two outs, when a balk was called, putting the blue and white ahead 1-0.

Behrend starter Andrew Chrobak (New Castle/Laurel) was in command through four innings, giving up just one hit.  In the fifth the NJAC champions got some offense going, putting five runs on the board and chasing Chrobak from the game.  The senior pitched four and two thirds innings, giving up five runs, only two of them earned.

TCNJ was not done, scoring four runs in the sixth inning, two in the seventh and two in the eighth, while Behrend was not able to string together enough action to generate more runs.  Liddle played well for the blue and white, going 2-for-2 with a walk, and scoring the only run for Behrend.

Penn State Behrend will play on Thursday, May 14 vs. #8 Penn State Berks.  Penn State Berks lost 10-0 on Wednesday to #1 Kean.  Thursday's game between Behrend and Berks will be an elimination game starting at 10:00 a.m.
