Both the Behrend Lions and the Mt. Aloysius Mounties found themselves atop the AMCC standings at 4-0 before today's match up.  The blue and white would end the day two games ahead of the Mounties at 6-0 in AMCC play and 13-2 overall.

The blue and white would take game one by the score of 2-1 behind another solid pitching performance by David Koerbel (Pittsburgh, PA/Central Catholic). Koerbel pitch a complete game striking out eight batters while giving up one earned run.

The Behrend Lions would get on the board in the second inning as Josh Fyffe (Fredonia, PA/Sharpsville) would single and steal second with two outs.  Ryan Liddle (DuBois, PA/DuBois) would double to drive in Fyffe to make it a 1-0 game.  Koerbel would shut down the Mounties until the top of the seventh when Dan Clark doubled with two strikes.  The next batter would pop out to the catcher trying to move the runner to third.  Matt Cornetti would single in Clark to tie the game at one. Koerbel would pick Cornetti off first and then strikeout the final batter of the inning.  With the score tied Liddle would walk to start the inning and advance to third on an Adam Hartwig (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) single.  Ryan Geibel (East Butler, PA/Butler) would get hit by a pitch to bring up Jon Gray (State College, PA/State College).  Gray would single in Liddle over the first baseman's head.  Gray would finish the game with two hits and an RBI.  Liddle would go 1-for-1 with a double, a run scored, and a RBI.

The blue and white would start game two off a little rocky.  The Behrend Lions would give up two runs in the second, one earned, to go down 2-0.  Starting pitcher, Andrew Chrobak (New Castle, PA/Laurel) would shut down the Mounties bats there after allowing just four hits in his complete game victory.  Behrend would answer in the bottom of the second scoring seven runs to put the blue and white ahead 7-2.  The Behrend Lions never looked back as they would win 8-2.  Dave Miller (St. Marys, PA/St. Marys) would go 2-for-3 with a RBI for the blue and white.  Liddle would add another hit on the day as well as two RBI.

The Behrend Lions will next travel to Pitt-Bradford on March 31 for a doubleheader beginning at 1:00 p.m.
