Dubensky Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Baseball Team

Penn State Behrend senior third baseman Dustin Dubensky (Punxsutawney/Punxsutawney) was named to the 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 2 Baseball Team.

Dubensky has led the blue and white to a 26-14 record and second place finish in the AMCC regular season after guiding the Behrend Lions to two straight conference regular season and conference tournament titles.

Dubensky is plastics engineering technology major and carries a 3.68 GPA. On the dirt, he works with a .406 batting average and a team high 60 RBI. Dubensky the program's all-time leader in career doubles also is tops on the team this spring with 16. He also has scored 40 runs and stolen 10 bases in 14 attempts.

The senior captain has previously been honored by the AMCC on three straight Academic All-Conference teams and is a member of the National Student Athlete Honor Society, Chi Sigma Alpha.  In additon to his career doubles mark, the two-time AMCC All-Conference performer ranks third all-time for RBI, fourth in base on balls, fifth in career hits, and eighth in runs scored.

Dubensky joins a prestigious group of former Behrend Lions baseball players who have earned this top notch academic and athletic honor. The group includes Jake Boyle (2002), Chris Shearer (2002), Ryan Seyler (2003), and David Miller (2009).
