Moyer Leads Behrend Past Northwestern

FORT PIERCE, Fl.  – Mike Moyer pitched seven innings and only allowed one earned run, striking out two and giving up four hits to lead the Penn State Behrend baseball team past Northwestern 8-1 in non-conference action in Fort Pierce, Florida over Spring Break.

Chad Zurat struck out three in two perfect innings of relief for the Lions to preserve the win. Blake Pavlik and Matt Bittner each had three hits in the single game. Pavlik smacked two RBIs along with Rich Doyle, while Bittner had two doubles in the win.

Behrend is off tomorrow, but enters Thursday's game against Lebanon Valley with a 2-2 record. The Lions take on the Flying Dutchmen at 12:30 p.m.
