ERIE, Pa. - On Wednesday, October 27, the Behrend Lions baseball team took time to spend with the children of the Penn State Behrend Child Care Center, located on campus in Knowledge Park. The wonderful fall weather proved to make the perfect atmosphere for kickball, wiffle ball, and freeze tag.
"Our players and coaches really enjoyed playing with the boys and girls at the child care center," said head coach Paul Benim. "It was an opportunity to give back to our Behrend community. We also learned from the kids and were reminded about living in the moment. They have an incredible zest for life."
As a part of their annual community service, the Behrend Lions have also volunteered hours to Habitat for Humanity. The program plans to continue this service project later this year along with another visit to the Child Care Center.
