Lions Fall to No. 14 Keystone in Florida Finale

FORT PIERCE, FL - Blaine O'Brien threw a no-hitter helping the Keystone Giants defeat the Penn State Behrend baseball team 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

O'Brien, a 2011 draft choice of the Cleveland Indians, dominated the game with 12 strikeouts.

The Lions (4-4) were only able to get four baserunners in the game, including three drawn walks and a hit by pitch.

Behrend's pitching staff was almost equally effective.  Justin Wood (Alleghany, NY/Alleghany) started for the Lions, throwing 4.1 innings and only giving up two runs.  Matt Parnes (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) came in relief, scattering two hits in three scoreless innings. Tyler Geer (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) also pitched well for Behrend with 1.2 shutout innings.

Keystone struck quick for two runs in the second.  The Giants offense was unable to get anything going the rest of the game with the strong effort by the Lions' pitchers.

O'Brien limited Behrend's opportunities with the help of multiple outstanding defensive plays.

The Lions finished their Florida schedule with a 4-4 record.  Behrend will be back in action on Thursday at Washington and Jefferson.  First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
