Lions Earn ECAC Bid

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team earned a bid to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Tournament, announced on Monday.  Behrend will host Waynesburg on Wednesday with game time set for 2 p.m. at the Behrend Diamond.

The Lions (26-15-1) will be making their second straight and seventh overall appearance in the ECAC tournament, last capturing the South Region title in 2003.

Following a victory in game one of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) tournament, Behrend fell one win short of playing in the championship game for a fifth straight year.

Waynesburg (22-18) did not qualify for the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) tournament.  The Yellow Jackets and Lions split a regular season matchup.  Behrend fell in game one 5-3 before taking game two, 6-2.
